Surveillance and updates on food- and waterborne diseases and zoonoses
Threats and outbreaks
Rapid outbreak assessments aim at supporting the countries and the European Commission in their preparedness and response to a public health threat. They provide a timely summary and risk assessment of a public health threat for EU/EEA countries related to a specific event. They also include potential options for response. As outbreaks or public health events develop, ECDC may issue updated risk assessments.
Epidemiological updates are rapid situation updates on an epidemiological situation, such as a currently evolving outbreak or a public health threat, optionally including an assessment from ECDC.
Annual Epidemiological Reports
Annual Epidemiological Reports (AERs)
The Annual Epidemiological Reports (AERs) are a key ECDC publication on the epidemiology of communicable diseases of public health significance in Europe.
Annual EU Summary reports
Data on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in zoonotic and indicator bacteria from humans, animals and food are collected annually by the EU Member States (MSs), jointly analysed by EFSA and ECDC and reported in a yearly EU Summary Report. The annual monitoring of AMR in animals and food within the EU is targeted at selected animal species corresponding to the reporting year.
These reports of the European Food Safety Authority and ECDC presents the results of zoonoses monitoring activities carried out every year.
