• Surveillance and Monitoring: The main objective of these outputs is to inform and raise awareness.
• Public Health Guidance: The main objective of these outputs is to inform and guide EU public health policies and practices.
• Scientific Journal Articles: In addition to its report outputs, ECDC also publishes articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Status values

• In progress: This means that an output is currently in production or undergoing the necessary formal processes of review and clearance within ECDC.
• Completed: The term 'Completed' signifies that an output has undergone the necessary formal processes of review and clearance within ECDC. However, this does not inherently guarantee its publication. For instance, a scientific journal article that is marked as completed might still be in the queue for publication, subject to the schedule and processes of the publisher concerned. Alternatively, some outputs are completed with the objective of limited distribution, rather than widespread public dissemination. Completion does not necessarily equate to immediate public access, as outputs may involve a waiting period or remain confined to a limited audience.
• Published: The term 'Published' refers to completed ECDC outputs that are published on the ECDC website.
• Discontinued: Discontinued outputs are those which were planned (and often started) before being subsequently cancelled. A planned item may be discontinued for a variety of reasons, for example, changing priorities or a change in a stakeholder request.
