The latest EU/EEA figures show a continuing upward trend in the number of cases of dengue imported from dengue-endemic regions, as well as an increasing number of local outbreaks of West Nile virus infections and dengue within the EU/EEA.
Zika virus (ZIKV) disease is a mosquito-borne disease caused by Orthoflavivirus zikaense. The disease is most frequently an acute febrile illness with myalgia, skin rash, arthralgia, and neurological signs. Sub-clinical and asymptomatic cases are common.
