In the context of the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) conference of the Belgian EU presidency, with ECDC as one of the organisers, the Director participated in the high-level meeting ‘An EU Health Emergency’ in Brussels.
The European Antimicrobial Resistance Genes Surveillance Network (EURGen-Net) is a surveillance network for genomic-based surveillance of multidrug-resistant bacteria of public health importance, coordinated by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
EARS-Net is based on routine clinical antimicrobial susceptibility data from local and clinical laboratories reported to ECDC by appointed representatives from the Member States.
