From 10–14 June 2024, a team of experts from the European Commission (EC), ECDC, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), Epiconcept, the Integrated Quality Laboratory Services (IQLS), and Spain visited Montenegro to discuss AMR issues in a One Health perspective.
From 22-23 May a team of experts from ECDC, the Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety and the European Food Safety Authority completed a visit to Kosovo to support the country’s efforts to develop the One Health Country Roadmap on antimicrobial resistance.

A joint study of the National Public Health Organization in Greece (NPHO) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) conducted in 15 Greek hospitals in 2022 sheds light on the rapid spread of carbapenemase-producing, highly drug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae sequence type (ST) 39, following its initial documentation in a European-wide genomic survey in 2019.
