Communicable disease threats report, 25 November-1 December 2012, week 48
The ECDC communicable disease threats report is a weekly bulletin intended for epidemiologists and health professionals in the area of communicable disease prevention and control. Summarising information gathered by ECDC through its epidemic intelligence activities regarding communicable disease threats of concern to the European Union, it also provides updates on the global situation and changes in the epidemiology of communicable diseases with potential to affect Europe, including diseases that are the focus of eradication efforts.
Avian influenza overview March – April 2023
12 May 2023 - Between 2 March and 28 April 2023, highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) A(H5Nx) virus, clade 188.8.131.52b, outbreaks were reported in domestic (106) and wild (610) birds across 24 countries in Europe.
Increase in Escherichia coli isolates carrying blaNDM-5 in the European Union/European Economic Area, 2012–2022
11 May 2023 - Analysis of whole genome sequencing and epidemiological data of 874 E. coli isolates from the national collections of 13 countries confirmed the increase of E. coli isolates carrying blaNDM-5 which was previously detected in the CCRE survey.

24 Apr 2023 - ECDC’s annual surveillance reports provide a wealth of epidemiological data to support decision-making at the national level. They are mainly intended for public health professionals and policymakers involved in disease prevention and control programmes.
