The EuroCJD Surveillance network hosted its biennial expert meeting in Budapest. The meeting reviewed surveillance activities and assessed trends in the epidemiology of vCJD in the EU and globally. The meeting also reviewed other activities in the Network, including diagnostic capacity and options to utilise new diagnostic techniques, draft guidelines on surgical instruments used in brain biopsy and future training activities.
