The ECDC Communicable Disease Threats Report (CDTR) is a weekly bulletin for epidemiologists and health professionals on active public health threats. This issue covers the period 8-14 August 2021, and includes updates on COVID-19, West Nile virus disease, Vibrio growth in the Baltic Sea, Marburg virus disease, and the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
For 2018, 11 312 cases of mumps were reported to ECDC by 28 EU/EEA Member States with an overall notification rate of 2.6 cases per 100 000 population.
ECDC’s annual surveillance reports provide a wealth of epidemiological data to support decision-making at the national level. They are mainly intended for public health professionals and policymakers involved in disease prevention and control programmes.
