Salmonellosis - Annual Epidemiological Report for 2021
Salmonellosis is the second most commonly reported gastrointestinal infection in the EU/EEA, and an important cause of food-borne outbreaks. In 2021, 60 494 laboratory-confirmed cases of salmonellosis were reported, out of which 73 were fatal. The EU/EEA notification rate for salmonellosis was 16.6 cases per 100 000 population.
