The 2016–2017 ECDC point prevalence survey was the second EU-wide point prevalence survey of healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial use in acute care hospitals and the largest European PPS performed to-date in a total of more than 1 200 hospitals from 27 EU/EEA countries and the UK (United Kingdom counted as one country) and Serbia.
