Swedish Health Minister Jakob Forssmed visited ECDC
On 16 June 2023, the Swedish Minister for Social Affairs and Public Health, Mr Jakob Forssmed, visited ECDC with a delegation.
The delegation met with Dr. Andrea Ammon and colleagues for a short presentation of the work of our Agency and the implications of ECDC’s reinforced mandate.
The Minister briefed the Director about the conclusions from the Swedish EU Council Presidency. There were also discussions about milestones in the collaboration between ECDC and the host country, Sweden.
The delegation from the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs included Jakob Forssmed, Minister for Social Affairs and Public Health, Tina Sahlén, political advisor, chief of staff, Sofia Wennerstrand, Deputy Director, Division for EU and International Affairs, Ziba Zareie, Acting Deputy Head of Division, Division for EU and International Affairs and Dariosh Bidar, Desk Officer, Division for Health and Civil Society.
