ECDC Director speaks at ICREID, 2nd International Conference on (re-)emerging infectious diseases

During the International Conference on (re-)emerging infectious diseases in Addis Ababa, ECDC Director Andrea Ammon presented ECDC's response activities, preparedness work and training activities.

The International Conference on (re-)emerging infectious diseases (ICREID) took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 13 to 15 March 2019.  It was 2nd ICREID conference, and it was organised by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and Virology Education.

ECDC Director Andrea Ammon gave a presentation on the mission and mandate of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and on the Centre’s emergency operation response activities, preparedness work and training activities in order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

Dr John Nkengasong, Director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, and Prof. Charles A. B. Boucher from the Erasmus Medical Center, opened the conference.
