Data presented on this page are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the preceding week and published on Thursdays

Summary: Since 31 December 2019 and as of week 2022-14, 497 572 275 cases of COVID-19 (in accordance with the applied case definitions and testing strategies in the affected countries) have been reported, including 6 185 575 deaths.

Cases have been reported from:

Africa: 11 551 403 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are South Africa (3 732 075), Morocco (1 164 030), Tunisia (1 037 358), Egypt (511 977) and Libya (501 807).

Asia: 125 206 750 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are India (43 036 132), South Korea (15 424 598), Vietnam (10 198 236), Iran (7 191 643) and Japan (6 991 687).

America: 151 994 230 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are United States (80 449 398), Brazil (30 161 205), Argentina (9 052 536), Colombia (6 088 034) and Mexico (5 723 214).

Europe: 202 822 518 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are France (26 890 057), Germany (22 745 070), United Kingdom (21 596 171), Russia (17 996 060) and Italy (15 292 048).

Oceania: 5 996 669 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are Australia (4 877 546), New Zealand (773 227), French Polynesia (72 570), Fiji (64 499) and New Caledonia (60 385).

Other: 705 cases have been reported from an international conveyance in Japan.

Deaths have been reported from:

Africa: 252 207 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are South Africa (100 096), Tunisia (28 425), Egypt (24 522), Morocco (16 061) and Ethiopia (7 509).

Asia: 1 282 566 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are India (521 691), Indonesia (155 626), Iran (140 616), Philippines (59 769) and Vietnam (42 813).

America: 2 704 066 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are United States (985 826), Brazil (661 327), Mexico (323 727), Peru (212 507) and Colombia (139 719).

Europe: 1 936 677 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are Russia (371 716), United Kingdom (170 090), Italy (160 748), France (157 152) and Germany (132 006).

Oceania: 10 053 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are Australia (6 564), Fiji (834), French Polynesia (648), Papua New Guinea (643) and New Zealand (469).

Other: 6 deaths have been reported from an international conveyance in Japan.
