Tuberculosis surveillance in Europe 2005
The WHO TB surveillance report presents and analyses data collected for 2005 in the European Union, European Economic Area and the additional 24 countries of the WHO European Region. The report was published in March 2007 by the European surveillance network EuroTB.
The EuroTB project was set up in 1996 to develop and coordinate a European network of national tuberculosis surveillance institutions in the 53 countries of the WHO European Region. The project was financially supported by the European Commission until the end of 2007. From January 2008 onwards ECDC and WHO/EURO jointly assumed the coordination of the activities of EuroTB.

14 Sep 2021 - The WHO European Region was declared polio-free in 2002. Neither wild-type nor vaccine-type viruses were notified in the WHO European Region in 2018, but the risk of importation and subsequent transmission remain high in some countries.

13 Sep 2021 - In 2019, 29 countries in the European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA) reported a total of 49 752 tuberculosis (TB) cases (9.6 per 100 000 population).
