Visit to Norwegian Institute of Public Health
On 15 March 2024, Dr Andrea Ammon visited the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (Folkhelseinstituttet/NIPH) and the Ministry of Health and Care Services, in Oslo.
At the Institute, Dr Andrea Ammon spoke about ‘the new EU Health security framework and ECDC’s new mandate – how will Member States be affected and how is ECDC adapting?’ and presented her perspective from almost 10 years as Director of ECDC on the most significant changes in public health in Europe over the past decade.
The meeting with the Ministry of Health in the afternoon covered topics such as the serious cross-border threats to health regulation and the amendment of the ECDC founding regulation, and their foreseen impact on EU/EEA Member States.
