ECDC and DG SANTE visited WHO Berlin Hub and Robert Koch Institute
On 28 February and 1 March2023, an ECDC delegation led by Dr. Andrea Ammon and a DG SANTE delegation led by Sandra Gallina travelled to Berlin to meet with colleagues from the WHO Berlin Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence, the Association of Medical Ethics Committees (AKEK), and the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
During the visit to the WHO Berlin Hub, the German health authorities were represented by State Secretary Thomas Steffen. Various topics were addressed, including the ECDC/SANTE surveillance strategy, global health security work, and the collaboration with Africa CDC.
During the visit to the RKI, the German health authorities were represented by State Secretary Antje Draheim. The main discussion topic was our ECDC's new mandate.
