Discover the principles of behavioural and social sciences within the context of infectious disease prevention and control. This e-learning will increase your understanding of how key social and behavioural factors influence the spread and control of infectious disease and demonstrate how public health interventions can use these approaches in the fight against infectious disease.

Duration: 45-60 minutes.

 Audience: Public Health professionals from European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries working in the field of infectious diseases prevention and control and interested in developing behavioural and/or social sciences interventions.  

 Objectives: 

  • Define the theoretical basis and key principles of behavioural and social sciences in the context of infectious disease prevention, control and management.
  • Identify key social and behavioural factors influencing the spread and control of infectious diseases.
  • Recognize how public health interventions can draw on behavioural and social sciences to help prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
