Monthly measles and rubella monitoring report, July 2018
ECDC reports monthly on measles and rubella surveillance data submitted by 30 EU/EEA countries to the European Surveillance System (TESSy). This report is based on surveillance data reported to TESSy from 1 June 2017 to 31 May 2018. ECDC also monitors European measles outbreaks through epidemic intelligence and publishes the most recent updates monthly in the Communicable Disease Threats Report (CDTR).

According to the latest Communicable Diseases Threats Report (CDTR) with the most recent data collected through epidemic intelligence, Romania (4 317), France (2 588), Greece (2 238) and Italy (1 716) have reported the highest number of cases in 2018. To date, 31 deaths have also been reported across the region in 2018.
