Since the previous update (July 2024), there were changes in 16 countries.

The map shows the current known distribution of Aedes albopictus in Europe at ‘regional’ administrative level, as of June 2025. Since the previous update (July 2024), the mosquito has been recorded as newly established in Cyprus and Slovakia, and spread in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Lebanon, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunesia and Türkiye.

Aedes albopictus is known to be established in the following EU/EEA countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain. It is known to have been introduced in the EU/EEA countries Czechia, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
