Fourth external quality assessment scheme for Listeria monocytogenes typing
This report presents the results of the fourth round of the external quality assessment (EQA-4) scheme for typing of Listeria monocytogenes organised for laboratories in the Food- and Waterborne Diseases and Zoonoses Network (FWD-Net). The objectives of the EQA are to assess the quality and comparability of the typing data reported by the National Public Health Reference Laboratories. Twenty three laboratories took part representing a 15% increase since the last exercise.
Euro-GASP external quality assessment scheme for Neisseria gonorrhoeae antimicrobial susceptibility testing
3 Sep 2019 - External quality assessment (EQA) is an essential part of any laboratory-based surveillance system, allowing for the monitoring of performance and comparability of results from participating laboratories, identification of potential issues, and deployment of resources and training where necessary.
Sixth external quality assessment scheme for Listeria monocytogenes typing
26 Aug 2019 - This report presents the results of the sixth round of the external quality assessment (EQA-6) scheme for Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes) typing organised for laboratories providing data to the Food- and Waterborne Diseases and Zoonoses Network (FWD-Net) managed by ECDC.
Collection and analysis of whole genome sequencing data from food-borne pathogens and other relevant microorganisms isolated from human, animal, food, feed and food/feed environmental samples in the joint ECDC–EFSA molecular typing database
29 May 2019 - This report identifies and compares potential platforms/solutions for the set-up and running of a joint ECDC–EFSA database to collect and analyse whole genome sequencing (WGS) data for Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella and Escherichia coli. In particular, WGS introduces the need for specific components for storage and analysis of these data.
