Aedes japonicus - current known distribution: April 2026

The map shows the current known distribution of Aedes japonicus in Europe at ‘regional’ administrative unit level, as of April 2026. Since the previous update (June 2025), there are 30 new administrative units where this species is currently known to be established, in the following countries: Germany (2), France (6), Italy (2), the Netherlands (4), Poland (15), and Slovakia (3). In addition, there are two administrative units where the species was found to be newly introduced, in the Netherlands (1) and Romania (1).
