Aedes albopictus - current known distribution: July 2024
Since the previous update (May 2024), there were changes in 4 regions.
The map shows the current known distribution of Aedes albopictus in Europe at ‘regional’ administrative level, as of July 2024. Since the previous update (May 2024), the mosquito has been recorded as newly established in two regions in Belgium. The map also corrects an introduction in Spain that was wrongly mapped in May.
Aedes albopictus is known to be established in the following EU/EEA countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, and Spain. It is known to have been introduced in the EU/EEA countries Cyprus, Czechia, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Sweden.
