Combating HIV and TB through a joint regional action - Northern Dimension Partnership on Public Health and Social Well-being
The aim of this side event was to develop and support effective country and regional responses to further improve the current HIV and tuberculosis situations and reduce their impacts on human lives, economy and society.
During the last decade, the Northern Dimension Partnership on Public Health and Social Well-being has been an important platform for collaboration and cooperation on public health in the region.
At the event, ECDC Director Marc Sprenger talked about the epidemiological situation for tuberculosis and for HIV in the EU and EEA countries and Russia and discussing measures to be taken to prevent and control further transmission of these two diseases.

Heads of Agencies network meets in Brussels under ECDC chairmanship

Pre-exposure prophylaxis in the EU/EEA. PrEP service delivery and monitoring: minimum standards and key principles
15 Nov 2018 to 16 Nov 2018 - In a two-day meeting organised by ECDC and UNAIDS, representatives of 22 European countries discussed how to improve the delivery of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) across Europe. The meeting brought together country delegates, PrEP users and community HIV advocates to seek ways to strengthen the provision and monitoring of PrEP.
One Health to Keep Antibiotics Working
15 Nov 2018 to 15 Nov 2018 - For EAAD 2018 ECDC will host the event “One Health to Keep Antibiotics Working” where ECDC will present the latest estimates of the health burden of antibiotic resistance, and the new data on the prevalence of healthcare-associated infections and of antimicrobial consumption in acute care hospitals and long-term care facilities in the EU/EEA.
