International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) Europe Network Meeting
The 2024 International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) Europe Network Meeting took place in Budva, Montenegro on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 April. The theme of the meeting was ‘Change – public health approaches to new realities’.
On 18 April, ECDC Director Dr Andrea Ammon spoke at the opening session and shared personal reflections and perspectives from her career in public health from the Robert Koch Institute to ECDC. The title of her intervention was “Challenges and perspectives for National Public Health Institutes in Europe: reflection from ECDC experience and interaction with IANPHI”.
On 19 April, the Director facilitated one of the breakout group with the theme “Growing Effective Collaborations Across the European Region - From Survey to Action”. This session explored ways to enhance collaboration between European public health institutes as well as with supranational agencies. The discussion focused on strategies for fostering cooperation, sharing resources, and aligning efforts to address public health challenges effectively.
