Access to EU/EEA surveillance data for third parties
Third parties may request aggregate EU/EEA surveillance data to address research questions relevant to public health data.
Steps:
- Download the data from the Surveillance Atlas for Infectious Diseases, if available.
- For data not included in the Surveillance Atlas, consult the EU/EEA surveillance metadata to find out what other data are available.
- Take note of the ECDC data disclaimer and the below conditions for publishing and reproducing EU/EEA surveillance data.
- Fill in a request for EU/EEA surveillance data and send it to: data.access@ecdc.europa.eu
- When publishing any findings derived from EU/EEA surveillance data, apply the below conditions for publishing and reproducing EU/EEA surveillance data.

Conditions for publishing and reproducing EU/EEA surveillance data
While ECDC collects EU/EEA surveillance data from reliable sources, it cannot guarantee the accuracy of the data and shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from their reuse.
Except where otherwise stated, publication and reproduction of EU/EEA surveillance data are authorised provided that the Member States providing these data and ECDC are duly acknowledged as the source, and without prejudice to any obligation upon the entity that intends to publish and reproduce the data stemming from data protection laws. This permission does not extend to any third-party copyrighted material identifiable as such.
Any publication arising from EU/EEA surveillance data obtained from ECDC shall credit the source as follows: 'Data provided by ECDC based on data reported by EU/EEA Member States.'
