Fighting against HIV/AIDS - 10 years after the Dublin Declaration
The fight against HIV and AIDS achieved significant results in the last years, increasing lifespan of HIV-positive people. This was possible thanks to several information campaigns carried out for the prevention of infection transmission, but also thanks to the discovery of new drugs.
The Conference reflected both on progress achieved and further progress which has still to be made.
ECDC Director Marc Sprenger presented a review of 10 years of HIV surveillance data since the signing of the Dublin Declaration in 2004.
