ECDC monitoring outbreak associated with cruise ship

ECDC is aware of suspected cases of hantavirus infection, including three deaths, associated with a cruise ship travelling in the Atlantic.
ECDC is closely monitoring the situation and is in contact with relevant national public health authorities and the World Health Organization to assess the available epidemiological information, identify the source of infection, and evaluate any potential risk of further transmission in Europe.
ECDC will provide updates as more information becomes available.
