Calls for new EU Reference Laboratories for public health in four fields are now open

The European Commission has issued four new calls for applications for the designation of EU Reference Laboratories (EURLs) for public health.

 On 11 March 2026, the European Commission issued four new calls for applications for the designation of EU Reference Laboratories (EURLs) for public health on the following pathogens:

  • Clostridioides difficile;
  • Sexually Transmitted Bacteria;
  • Mycobacteria; and
  • Invasive Bacteria.

Interested public health laboratories in EU Member States and EEA countries participating in the EU4Health Programme are invited to submit their applications no later than Wednesday 19 August 2026 at 12:00 (noon) Central European Summer Time.
