West Nile virus infection outbreak in humans in Romania

Following an unusually large and widespread outbreak of West Nile virus, ECDC and the WHO Regional Office for Europe conducted a joint visit to Romania to review the risk assessment of the virus in Romania and to refine and strengthen the current EU risk assessment for West Nile virus transmission to humans. This report presents the main findings of this joint expert mission in October 2010.
