Workshop on global and regional HIV monitoringArchived
This workshop brought together experts on HIV monitoring and reporting from EU Member States, ECDC, the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA), the European Commission, UNAIDS, the World Health Organization and the Civil Society Forum.
The workshop informed countries of the joint agency initiative to:
- improve the relevance of international reporting, and
- to reduce the reporting burden on countries.
Furthermore, the objectives of this workshop were to provide technical support to countries in monitoring their HIV responses and in reporting progress to regional and international bodies.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis in the EU/EEA. PrEP service delivery and monitoring: minimum standards and key principles
15 Nov 2018 to 16 Nov 2018 - In a two-day meeting organised by ECDC and UNAIDS, representatives of 22 European countries discussed how to improve the delivery of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) across Europe. The meeting brought together country delegates, PrEP users and community HIV advocates to seek ways to strengthen the provision and monitoring of PrEP.
World AIDS Day 2018: Know the epidemic, shape the response
1 Dec 2018 to 1 Dec 2018 - The tools to end new HIV infections and AIDS exist. The knowledge on how to use them is agreed upon. Nevertheless late diagnosis of HIV remains a challenges across the European Union and European Economic Area.
