Third Joint Meeting of the Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections (ARHAI) Networks

This meeting was organised for nominated members of the three ARHAI networks: the European Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Network (EARS-Net), the European Surveillance of Antimicrobial Consumption Network (ESAC-Net) and the Healthcare-Associated Infections Surveillance Network (HAI-Net).

A series of joint plenary sessions and network-specific sessions provided a forum for discussion and for sharing best practices among network members. After reviewing the achievements of the ARHAI networks, the objectives and challenges for the coming years were discussed. The European Commission and WHO/Europe presented their priorities and activities. Finally, the Public Health Agency of Sweden organised two sessions designed to give a global perspective on successes and challenges in controlling antimicrobial resistance.
