Fellows complete 2024 Project Review Module
The 2024 Project Review Module, hosted by the Instituto Nacional de Saúde Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA) in Lisbon, Portugal, has successfully concluded, providing valuable insights and experiences to its 118 participants. This group included 22 MediPIET fellows, 44 ECDC Fellowship (EPIET & EUPHEM) fellows, and 35 facilitators.
Held between 26 and 30 August, the Project Review Module offered a comprehensive platform for fellows to receive constructive feedback on their scientific projects. This feedback will help fellows effectively communicate their research findings at scientific conferences, including the upcoming European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ESCAIDE) that will take place in Stockholm in November.
The module emphasised the enhancement of both content and presentation delivery, ensuring that fellows are well equipped for oral and poster presentations.
During the week-long training, participants developed their ability to articulate, defend, and justify their research choices. They also gained valuable experience in engaging in scientific argumentation and critique.
In addition, the module offered many opportunities to network among fellows and to connect with public health professionals from across Europe.
Fellows are now better prepared to demonstrate the public health relevance of their work, integrate constructive feedback, and communicate findings to diverse, multidisciplinary audiences.
