Between 23 and 29 July 2021, European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries reported no human cases of West Nile virus (WNV) infection and no deaths related to WNV infections. EU-neighbouring countries reported no human cases of WNV infection.
Since the beginning of the 2021 transmission season and as of 29 July 2021, EU/EEA countries have reported one human case of WNV infection in Italy and no deaths. EU-neighbouring countries have reported no human cases of WNV infection.
