Weekly influenza surveillance overview, 27 May 2011 - Week 20

The influenza season is coming to an end in Europe with all countries reporting low intensity and only five countries reporting sporadic activity.For the second week, no influenza virus has been detected from sentinel sources. Seven influenza A and two influenza B viruses have been detected in non-sentinel specimens. One SARI case unrelated to influenza virus infection was reported by Romania.
