Weekly influenza surveillance overview, 20 May 2011 - Week 19

During week 19/2011, influenza activity was at its lowest level since the peak of the season in week 52/2010. For the first time, no influenza virus has been detected from sentinel sources. Six influenza A and six influenza B viruses have been detected in non-sentinel specimens.
