Bi-weekly influenza surveillance overview,5-18 Sept 2011 - Weeks 36-37

During weeks 36-37/2011, low influenza activity was detected in the 18 reporting countries.
Sentinel specimens yielded no influenza detections, while two type A influenza viruses were detected innon-sentinel specimens. One type A influenza virus was subtyped as A(H3).
During weeks 36–37/2011, no cases of SARI were reported.
