This training aligns with the broader objectives of the Africa CDC – ECDC Partnership project, which aims to enhance harmonised surveillance efforts across Africa.

The training provided RBC and Africa CDC public health experts with practical, hands-on experience using R, leveraging local datasets and real-world scenarios to enhance data analysis skills. By integrating global best practices, this initiative contributes to building more resilient public health systems and fostering international collaboration.

During the training, a representative from the European Union Delegation to Rwanda (EEAS) visited to observe the session and engage in a discussion on current public health activities of EEAS and ECDC in Rwanda and the broader region.

Furthermore, insights gained from the event will support ECDC and Africa CDC in delivering country-specific R training in other African Union Member States, strengthening capacity-building efforts across the continent.
