Results of the Burden of Communicable Diseases in Europe (BCoDE) study
Results of the Burden of Communicable Diseases in Europe (BCoDE) project provided key messages for planning and prioritization of communicable diseases in Europe, as well as offer a comprehensive overview of the quality and availability of surveillance data, and uncertainties surrounding them.
The Burden of Communicable Diseases in Europe (BCoDE) project involves a large European consortium and has the objective of estimating the burden of 32 selected infectious diseases in the EU/EEA Member States using Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs).
The list of participants included representatives of EU national public health agencies, the European Commission, WHO Regional Office for Europe, and European infectious disease experts.
One Health to Keep Antibiotics Working
15 Nov 2018 to 15 Nov 2018 - For EAAD 2018 ECDC will host the event “One Health to Keep Antibiotics Working” where ECDC will present the latest estimates of the health burden of antibiotic resistance, and the new data on the prevalence of healthcare-associated infections and of antimicrobial consumption in acute care hospitals and long-term care facilities in the EU/EEA.
