During this conference, ECDC presents the results of the Neisseria gonorrhoeae susceptibility testing external quality assurance (EQA) scheme. A major aim of the European sexually transmitted infections (STI) surveillance network is to strengthen the surveillance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae antimicrobial resistance in the European Union and the European Economic Area (EU/EEA) Member States with the objective to implement an EQA scheme for antimicrobial susceptibility testing across Europe.
