The first day focused on high-level policy discussions, where the ECDC Director and colleagues from the Policy Coordination Section met with EFSA Executive Director Bernhard Url and colleagues from EFSA’s Engagement and External Relations Unit to exchange views on current challenges and future directions.

On the second day, Ole Heuer, Head of Unit Disease Programmes and EFSA senior management joined for operational discussions to enhance collaboration between the two agencies.

The discussions focused on better coordinating joint activities, tackling practical challenges and finding opportunities to work together more effectively. Ole Heuer stressed the importance of advancing the One Health approach, highlighting the need to build on existing synergies between the agencies' work in this field.
