ECDC Director discussed AMR with the Swedish Government

On 25 August, following the invitation from the Government Offices of Sweden, Andrea Ammon participated in a lunch for a conversation about the global work against antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

The Director gave an overview on the EU's efforts in relation to the Global Action Plan on AMR and reported on the numerous activities of the ECDC in this regard. She also gave an update on the latest progress report of the European One-Health Action Plan against Antimicrobial Resistance issued by the European Commission.

Secretary of State to Swedish Minister of Health Maja Fjaestad and AMR Ambassador Malin Grape also participated in the dialogue, which took place at the Government Offices in Stockholm city. 

The discussions looked at AMR from a policy perspective on a more global, holistic and cross-sectoral point of view, bringing in actors from different fields.
