tick species - distribution map
The map shows the current known distribution of the vector species at ‘regional’ administrative level (NUTS3). It is based on published historical data and confirmed data provided by experts from the respective countries as part of the VBORNET project.
||The species is known to have been present at least in one municipality within the administrative unit.|
||Observed absence (obs. absent): the species has never been reported within the administrative unit and there have been field surveys or studies on sand flies within the last 5 years of the distribution status date.|
||Anticipated absence (antic. absent): the species has never been reported and experts estimate a high probability of absence.|
||No data are available to local experts.|
||No information is available on the existence of field studies on sandflies.|
ECDC, through the VBORNET network, continues to improve the data collection for the maps: the VBORNET network is therefore looking for vector-borne disease experts who are interested in data sharing and networking (experts can contact VBORNET at firstname.lastname@example.org).
