Use of antibiotics in animals is decreasing
Use of antibiotics has decreased and is now lower in food-producing animals than in humans, says the latest report published by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

organised by ECDC since 2015 and the EQA format and arrangements have changed. The current EQA scheme
uses an outbreak scenario with a package of clinical and environmental samples for the participating laboratories to process, depending on their technical capacity and protocols.

On June 29, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) published the report ‘Countering online vaccine misinformation in the EU/EEA', with a focus on misinformation related to vaccination against measles (in combination with mumps and rubella), human papillomavirus (HPV), influenza, and COVID-19.

EASA/ECDC update air travel guidelines to factor in vaccination and latest scientific evidence

ECDC supports EU/EEA Member States in rapid detection of SARS-CoV-2 variants
ECDC and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) have launched a number of activities to help strengthen EU/EEA Member States’ capacity for detection of SARS-CoV-2 variants in the shorter and longer term. These activities are one of five action areas of the ‘HERA Incubator’, a new EU bio-defence preparedness plan against SARS-CoV-2 variants launched by the European Commission on 17 February 2021.
