Rapid outbreak assessment: Multi-country outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes sequence type 6 infections linked to ready-to-eat meat products
Twenty-one cases of Listeria monocytogenes IVb sequence type ST 6 infections have been reported from the Netherlands (19 cases) and Belgium (two cases). This outbreak was identified using whole genome sequencing (WGS) analysis.

Epidemiological update: Multi-country outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis infections linked to Polish eggs
Since the latest ECDC-EFSA rapid outbreak assessment published on 12 December 2017, 15 EU/EEA countries (Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden and United Kingdom) have reported 336 confirmed, 94 probable and 3 new historical-confirmed cases associated with this ongoing multi-country outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis in the EU/EEA.

ECDC country visit to Belgium to discuss antimicrobial resistance issues
An ECDC country visit team conducted an assessment mission on 20-24 November 2017 to discuss antimicrobial resistance (AMR) issues in Belgium with the overall objective to provide an observation-based assessment of the situation in Belgium regarding prevention and control of AMR through prudent use of antibiotics and infection control.
