Resistance levels still high in bacteria causing foodborne infections
A sizeable proportion of Salmonella and Campylobacter bacteria is still resistant to antibiotics commonly used in humans and animals, as in previous years, says a report released today by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

Assessment tool for joint One Health country visits in relation to antimicrobial resistance
This updated assessment tool, which outlines the indicators for human health and the joint parts of the country visits, should be used in conjunction with respective EC assessment tools for the veterinary and environmental sectors. New data released today by ECDC show that levels of antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial consumption in the EU/EEA and the UK are still of concern, particularly in the southern and eastern parts of Europe.
