Technical mission: HIV, STI and viral hepatitis in Bulgaria. 19-21 September 2016 and 14-15 November 2016
The Ministry of Health in Bulgaria invited ECDC to prepare an assessment of the current national HIV programme and to review the STI and Hepatitis surveillance system. Following discussions between ECDC and representatives of the Bulgarian national programme, it was decided to split the assessment into two separate country missions.
Epidemiological update: Measles - monitoring European outbreaks, 6 April 2017
In Europe, measles cases have been reported in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Sweden as well as in Romania, where 4 025 cases have been reported as of 31 March 2017.
Country visit to Bulgaria to discuss policies relating to antimicrobial resistance
ECDC and the European Commission's Directorate General for Health and Food Safety jointly carried out this country visit to Bulgaria from 15 to 19 October 2018. The visit was carried out following the invitation from the competent authorities to assist them in the preparation of their national strategy for tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR) based on a 'One Health' perspective.
Rapid Outbreak Assessment: Fatal human case of Bacillus anthracis infection and bovine meat contamination in Bulgaria, 7 August 2015
ECDC and EFSA have assessed the risk to the EU/EEA posed by a fatal human case of Bacillus anthracis infection in Bulgaria and concluded that this event represents a negligible risk to other EU/EEA countries.
