European surveillance of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities in the EU/EEA: aggregate data reporting - Surveillance protocol version 1.1
This surveillance protocol seeks to enable countries to report their existing national surveillance data on COVID-19 in LTCFs easily and regularly. This will enable ECDC to report national trends in the EU/EEA, with the aim of providing all EU/EEA countries with timely information to support their preparedness activities for LTCFs.

E-Learning for front-line managers on COVID-19 response to vulnerable populations (24 languages)
This e-learning course is designed for front-line managers of institutions hosting or serving people who are medially or socially vulnerable to the impact of COVID-19. It is a non-moderated and self-paced course. You can decide when to start it, interrupt and resume to continue at any time. In total, the course is designed to take from 1 to 3 hours to complete. The content of this course is available in all 24 EU official working languages.

Rapid Risk Assessment: Increase in fatal cases of COVID-19 among long-term care facility residents in the EU/EEA and the UK
This risk assessment details the latest epidemiological data in the European Union/European Economic Area (EU/EEA) and the United Kingdom (UK) with a focus on older age groups and national reports of outbreaks among residents of LTCFs. All EU/EEA countries and the UK have experienced outbreaks among LTCF residents since August 2020.

Surveillance of COVID-19 at long-term care facilities in the EU/EEA
It is of paramount importance to be able to rapidly identify, assess and control COVID-19 outbreaks in LTCFs in order to protect this particularly fragile population. This document provides guidance for EU/EEA Member States planning to implement monitoring systems at LTCFs and describes the surveillance objectives.

ECDC country visit to Norway to discuss antimicrobial resistance issues
An ECDC country visit team conducted an assessment mission during the period 12–16 March 2018 to discuss antimicrobial resistance (AMR) issues in Norway. The overall objective of the mission was to provide an observation-based assessment of the situation in Norway regarding prevention and control of AMR through prudent use of antibiotics and infection control.

ECDC calls for continued action to address antimicrobial resistance in healthcare settings
On European Antibiotic Awareness Day, ECDC publishes the results of two point-prevalence surveys of healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial use in hospitals and in long-term care facilities in the EU/EEA.
