Meeting of the networks for Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV
This joint meeting of the networks on Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) and HIV offered a platform for expert discussion among nominated ECDC contact points for STI and HIV on 8-9 March. On 10-11 March 2016, the European network for HIV/AIDS Surveillance brought together the nominated HIV/AIDS surveillance contact and focal points of the 53 countries of the WHO European Region.
Fast-track the end of AIDS in the EU - practical evidence-based interventions

World AIDS Day 2017

So late, that two out of three people with AIDS in the EU/EEA receive their diagnosis within only three months of discovering they had HIV. For World AIDS Day 2017, ECDC highlighted the problem of late diagnosis and the need for diversifying HIV testing approaches.

The tools to end new HIV infections and AIDS exist. The knowledge on how to use them is agreed upon. Nevertheless late diagnosis of HIV remains a challenges across the European Union and European Economic Area.
