External quality assessment (EQA) scheme on PCR for Bordetella pertussis, 2012 on behalf of the EUpert-labnet network
ECDC is publishing the first external quality assurance scheme (EQA) for Bordetalla pertusis PCR, participated by 21-one laboratories from 21 European Union/European Economic Area countries.
External quality assurance scheme for Bordetella identification and B. pertussis typing 2013
This report presents the results of the first external quality assurance (EQA) scheme for Bordetella identification and typing funded by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
External quality assurance scheme for Bordetella pertussis serology 2013
This report presents the results of an external quality assurance (EQA) scheme for Bordetella pertussis serology which was carried out during the summer of 2013.
Microbiology of pertussis
ECDC promotes the performance of external quality assessment (EQA) schemes, in which laboratories are sent simulated clinical specimens or bacterial isolates for testing by routine or reference laboratory methods. EQA schemes, or laboratory proficiency testing, provide information about the accuracy of different characterisation and typing methods as well as antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) and the sensitivity of the methods in place to detect a certain pathogen or novel resistance patterns.
External quality assessment scheme for Bordetella pertussis serology 2016
This external quality assessment (EQA) to assess the ability of national reference laboratories from EU/EEA Member States to correctly perform laboratory serodiagnostic tests for pertussis was a collaborative study organised from February to April 2016.
External quality assessment for the detection of Bordetella pertussis by PCR, 2018
This report presents the results of the second European Pertussis Laboratory Surveillance Network (EUPert-LabNet) EQA scheme for Bordetella pertussis PCR funded by ECDC on behalf of EUPert-LabNet. The EQA study was conducted between February and March 2018.
