Joint ECDC/EUPHA meeting on health communication for innovation in the EU: a focus on communicable diseases
Communication on immunisation
Traditional interventions are no longer seen as enough to effectively prevent and control vaccine-preventable diseases. Research shows that properly designed behaviour-based health communication activities can have a significant positive impact on health-related attitudes, beliefs and behaviours.
Acute respiratory pandemics: how to plan for and manage
This practical course will cover outbreak investigation, pandemic planning, recent developments in respiratory pathogen biology and therapy, and will focus around two practical scenarios in which participants will gain experience in managing an acute epidemic. Research during an epidemic and ethical aspects will also be covered.
Expert meeting on the use of evidence in decision making during health crisis
ECDC is organising an expert consultation meeting in Stockholm in order to contribute to a better understanding by public health experts of the mechanisms through which scientific evidence feeds into decision-making processes during emergencies.
Public health networks
The National Focal Points (NFP) and Operational Contacts Points (OCP) for the below public health functions constitute the ECDC Public Health Networks.
Public Health Functions
This Unit is responsible for the delivery of ECDC’s statutory public health functions. The Unit works closely with the disease programmes as it provides the data for the respective disease-specific outputs and needs the input from the DPs for the respective specific emergency preparedness and training needs.
